Carolyn

Griffin Palmer

Carolyn Griffin Palmer is a teacher, award-winning cheerleading, track, and volleyball coach and principal are just a few of the many titles she earned during her career with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Carolyn is a Jackson State University graduate with a BS in Education, a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University, and postgraduate work at Governors State University. Her membership and service to organizations include President of Retirees in Motion (RIM) and a member of TRIAD.

 She is a proud member of Victory Apostolic Church, and a life member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Her foundation, "Carolyn's Kids", has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to elementary and high school graduates. Carolyn serves on the executive board of the Society of Mannequins, Best Dressed African American Women in the Chicagoland area. She is also a prominent "Mistress of Ceremonies" for many events.

Carolyn is a weekly freelance columnist for several African American news outlets, covering events, activities, and the Who's Who in the Chicagoland and South Suburban areas. She serves as a Trustee for the Village of Matteson, Illinois. Carolyn has been married for 50+ years to Isaac Lavell Palmer and is the mother of two daughters.
